CFI Canada’s mission is to provide education and training to the public in the application of skeptical, secular, rational and humanistic inquiry through conferences, symposia, lectures, published works and the maintenance of a library.

-The BC Human Rights Tribunal has agreed to consider a complaint alleging that mandating attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) violates an individual’s religious freedom. The complainant, Byron Wood, lost his job with Vancouver Coastal Health after refusing to attend AA as part of a treatment plan. Wood is an atheist who objected to the religious basis for AA.

-A controversial evangelical preacher whose claims include raising the dead, curing cancer and healing the blind is in Hamilton for a residency in an east end church. Todd Bentley, who was banned from the entering the U.K. in 2012, has been intermittently leading “Glory Awakening” sermons at the River International Church on Barton Street East since May.

-PHILADELPHIA — Atheists are calling for a top Democratic National Convention official to resign after leaked emails showed he suggested attacking Sen. Bernard Sanders for his alleged lack of belief in God.

The era of Satanic activism; As Christianity wanes in popularity, Satanism has been experiencing a sudden rebirth within the past three years.

-A suicide bombing in the capital of Afghanistan on Saturday killed 80 people and injured more than 230 others, many of whom were taking part in a political demonstration

  • CFI Ottawa Living without Religion; This support group meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month, 12:30 pm, at the Fox and Feather Pub
